Mexico's independence day! Nope. Actually, the independence day for Mexicans is September 16th. Cinco de Mayo is actually a celebration of the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862, It was a battle in which the Mexicans had a victory over the French. In fact, the only place in Mexico that this day is really celebrated is in Puebla. In America, it is huge though!! But, it has become more of a day to celebrate Mexican American traditions and heritage. So, make some guacamole, fry up some churros and click on the title "5th of May" for the entire history of this day.
