The Last Great Race/La Gran Ultima Carrera

The Iditarod. One of the most incredible races on Earth. 1150 miles of the craziest, most beautiful terrain you have ever seen! The dogs used to pull the sleds are usually some form of Husky. That is Leelu...my Siberian Husky and my proxy daughter (until I have a human one). And, no, I'm not a Giants fan... blame my husband! We haven't trained her to pull a sled, but if you put a harness on her... off she goes. Some people disagree with the race. All I know is, my husky would die if I didn't take out that harness a few times a week. Really, she stares at it. And, that is the point. Sometimes we should take a lead from the animals in our world. They live life with excitement. Go through life living it! Click the title "The Last Great Race" for more info on the Iditarod.

So, what if I told you, "Give me $10 and I'll give you dinner for 10 people"? Well, that's the idea. Miss Fran (Director of Music for the Parish) wants to raise money for a beautiful choir of handbells! But, she likes a win-win situation. So..... she's having a raffle!!!

50 Storm the Parish Hall!!/¡50 Invaden el Parish Hall!

Last night, in a frenzy of pizza and sheet music, 50 members of my choirs stormed the Parish Hall. These volunteers lifted everyone's spirits with their music. Children, youth and adults all came to practice for our highest celebration...Easter! They are not dead to their calling in life!
(ESP)Anoche, en un frenesí de pizza y papeles de música, 50 miembros de mis coros invadieron el Vestíbulo de Parroquia. Estos voluntarios levantaron todos espíritus con su música. A fighter for civil rights and peace... she sounds like a fictional character with enough drama to fill a novel. In fact, many writers have filled their novels with her name.... Dorothy Day. One of the most influential American Catholic Women that lived. She is a wonderful example of why we should not go through life as a dead person. One person, one woman, can effect a world.
