World Water Day!/Día de Agua del Mundo

K- so, water... we drink it, wash with it... take 20 minute showers with it (sadly, that would be me). In other parts of the world, it's not that easy. About 1 in 6 people have trouble getting clean, safe water. Now, I know you're asking... "what can I do?" Well, I'm so glad you asked! March 22nd is World Water Day. So, click on the title "World Water Day" and see how you can make a HUGE difference. Donate money, time or just read. Knowledge is power! Really! I didn't know about this until I researched it today. Next time I shower, I'll be thinking twice about letting 20 minutes go by! I'll remember how fortunate I am as people are blessed tonight with the washing of the feet.

Dalai Lama Steps Down?/¿El Dalai Lama Renuncía?

Will he step down as one of the greatest spiritual and political leaders of our time? I hope not, but if the violence in Tibet persists, he has said that he will. Although the Dalai Lama is from the Buddhist religion, he is a role model for all religions. An outspoken supporter and active participant of peaceful resolutions, he is an example of how peace can effect the world. I pray that peace will come to that part of our world. Kelly Clarkson Singing for Pope/Kelly Clarkson que Canta para Papa

On April 19th, as thousands fill St. Joseph's Seminary grounds in Yonkers to see the Pope, Kelly Clarkson will sing the Ave Maria. Harry Connick Jr., Jose Feliciano and Irish singer Dana are also slotted for performances. What a wonderful way to represent our culture and all generations! Peace is coming!/¡La paz viene!

In Dublin, Ireland there seems to be more joy this year as they celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Northern Ireland is looking to a new era of peace. How appropriate! As "On the Hill" celebrates their patron saint today, we have entered into the holiest week of our church year. We wait for the death and rising of our saviour that will bring peace. A Little Food, A Little Drink - All Irish!/¡Un poco de Comida, Un Poco de Bebida - Todo irlandés!

As Ireland's food menu expands, people "On the Hill" have kept it traditional. After the 9 a.m. mass on St. Patrick's Day, we have traditional Irish Soda Bread. This is topped off with some "special" coffee. If you had a bit o' the chill from the weather this year... you should have had some coffee. Every year, people donate their time and recipes for this celebration. I have been lucky enough to sample the results of these recipes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
(ESP)Cuando menú de alimento de Irlanda, la gente de "On the Hill" lo han mantenido tradicional. Después de la 9 misa de la mañana en el El Día de San Patricio, nosotros tenemos Pan Irlandés tradicional. Esto es con algún café "especial". Si usted fue un poco frio este año... usted debe haber tenido algún café. Todos los años, la gente donan su tiempo y las recetas para esta celebración.
